Wilfred Owen: A short biography
Wilfred Owen was born in 1893 in Shropshire, England. Owen became interested in poetry as a child, continuously reading and writing his own poems from a young age. Owen then grew to become an English poet before he decided to join the army in 1917. During his time in the war he met Siegfried Sassoon, who later became a great companion to Owen. Owen received the Military Cross for acts of bravery in 1918, but a month later was killed and pronounced dead. He is now widely recognised as one of the greatest voices of World War One.
